We all want the best URL’s, when I say URL or domain, I mean that ”www.the name you want to put here.com”. Well it is always advisable to do some amount of research before jumping to get your domain. And if you do not want to jump too far, there are always free domains and yes they won’t come with “.com” in the end. And yes what is free is not always good, that is if you are planning to earn from Google Adsense, they always want a top level domain. For eg: it should be like www.abstract-thoughts.com.

To begin with decide a name you would like to use, remember the domain name will be like a brand, and this brand will be analysed by every search engine, some remote unrelated domain name will be treated poorly

It should be ideally short
Easy to recall
Should be relevant to your content
Think Big, some word which is universal
Ensure that it is involving some combination of keywords
Think in terms of what will some one types, when he looks for that something, I mean that something which is on your site

Register domain to your own name. The legal ownership of a website is established by the ownership of the domain. If you use your own name and own credit card while buying a domain name, it means that you are the legal owner of the website against that domain and no one else can claim the ownership in future. So, before you put in all the hard work in creating and promoting a website you must make sure that you are the legal owner of your domain.

These details get scrutinized in your Google Adsense application, so it is wise to keep it original.

Never buy domains which contains Copyrighted Terms and are Trademarks of their respective owners. You can be sued or asked to shut down the site. Many people try to cash on words such as Facebook,Sony and so on by appending it to their domain names which will give them the hits for today, but may prove costly when asked to shut down in the future. Better be safe than sorry.

If you are serious into Adsense,then make use of Google AdSense Sandbox to check whether an existing/expired Domain Name is banned by Google AdSense Program or Not. If the Sandbox is showing NO RESULT for an Existing/Expired Domain Name, chances are very high that the Domain Name is banned from Google AdSense Program. It is not always correct though.
