Best SuperBowl Ads!

Mohit Nayak | March 30, 2012 | 0 Comments

The Super Bowl, is well known for the advertisements that air during game time. Since the broadcast reaches around 90 million people, the ad rates can cost around millions. The commercials are often highly anticipated because of their innovation or sense of humor.

There have been some duds and some doozies over the years, and the following is a personal compilation of a few of the best.

1977 Xerox ad: As a writer, I can relate to this one. The head monk admires the beautifully transcribed work of the scribe monk but then he springs it on him: that he needs 500 more copies of the lovely document.  Of course, on the other side of the door is Xerox’s latest super machine, and the job is done in an instant. When Brother Superior receives the 500 hundred copies almost instantaneously, he raises his eyes to the sky, thankful for the “miracle”.

1995 Budweiser frogs: When everybody in the office on Monday morning is walking around saying: “Bud” Wise” “Errrr”, you know the commercial is a hit. It didn’t even show a beer!

2011 Pepsi : First Date This is one of the funniest ones I have ever seen.

BridgeStone: Reply All I think a lot of techies can relate to this one. Remember the time when you accidently hit reply all to a mail you were only supposed to send to your friend?!

2002: Budweiser respect ad: This is my all time favorite and still gives me goose bumps. It is only a few months after the bombing of the World Trade Center, and the Budweiser Clydesdale horses travel slowly from the Midwest to New York to the site of the Twin Towers. When they arrive, slowly and with tears in their eyes, they kneel down in respect.  That is a beautiful commercial and I respect Budweiser for making it.

Going to the super bowl can sometimes get you drunk and in trouble. This can be a problem if you end up in jail because most likely, you’ve already spent your money on tickets and hotels. Try bail bonds nation as an easy alternative to a loan.
