Facebook contest winners to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor [FREE Tshirts to be won as well]
Facebook has soared to popularity over the past years. This has made it an inevitable source for publicizing events. Nissan has gone one step further and has planned to create the world’s first Bollywood movie auditioned on Facebook. The event is called New Star of India.
Ranbir Kapoor, one of the youth icons is the lead of the movie. Ranbir fans were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to audition for a chance to star alongside him. From well over 2000 hopefuls, 20 were chosen to be in this ground-breaking movie.
The campaign started off last month on Facebook, and has already gathered over 2,00,000 fans. They were given the opportunity to show off their dancing talent by recording a short video and uploading it to www.facebook.com/nissanindia. Short listing of the winners was done by the public. People voted for their favourite audition videos, and the most popular 100 participants were through. From these, Ranbir Kapoor and director/choreographer Ahmed Khan chose the lucky winners.
The filming for this ambitious project is already starting. The production team is ready for action in Hyderabad, where they will be shooting over the coming week.
The excitement does not end here. Nissan has ensured that all those who participated and did not win, are not disappointed. Some will be given surprise cameo roles and people will even be able to participate in the film production process at www.facebook.com/nissanindia
