Apple beats Nokia in Smartphone Sales!

Apple Iphone has become the world dominator in Smart-Phones. Nokia was numero uno in Smartphones Category for 14 years but has seen a decline in the past few years with the advent of Iphone and Android. It seems astonishing that all of Nokia’s Smartphones combined, could not defeat the Iphone in sales.

The Finish giant sold 16.7 million smartphones worldwide this quarter, while Apple’s numbers reveal that it sold 20.34 million units.Nokia’s smartphone sales have dropped 34 per cent compared to 25.2 million units sold by the company in the same quarter of 2010.

Sales of other mobile phone devices of Nokia has also dipped by 16 per cent to 71.8 million compared to 85.8 million in the same quarter a year ago.

Apple on the other hand with its reported sales of 20.34 million iPhones has seen a 142 per cent growth, over the same quarter a year-ago.

So ladies and gentlemen, its official..Apple is #1!
